The role of polyglutamine, epigenetics and RNA in Huntington’s disease

Henry Paulson, MD, PhD, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, discusses how CAG repeats in the Huntingtin protein cause excess glutamine which can misfold and aggregate. However, the disorder is more complex and the CAG repeat sequence potentially causes additional damage independently through epigenetic and RNA modification. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
